Africville Ghosts

Join us for Africville Ghosts!

Ware launching our exhibit as part of the Bluenose Ghosts Festival in partnership with Alderney Landing. On October 23 and 24, listen to ghost stories as told by the former residents of Africville.

Tickets are on sale now! Tickets sold in bubbles (up to 5 ppl) with specific staggered time slots to allow for social distancing. Face masks are required.

Congratulations! Our Gifted 2020 Africville Heritage Trust Scholarship Winners

Aaliyah Arab-Smith
Aaliyah is a descendant of Wilhemina “Lully” and John Byers (great grandparents), and Betty Arab (grandmother). She is a graduate of Kings Edgehill School in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Ms. Arab-Smith will be attending Dalhousie University this fall where she has been accepted into the Bachelor of Science, Medical Sciences program.

Portia Wright
Portia is a descendant of Elaine Wright of Africville. She is a graduate of Auburn Drive High School and will be attending St. Francis Xavier University in the fall where she is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science with Major program.

Myannah Catherine Carvery
Myannah is the granddaughter of Wilfred Carvery. She is a graduate of Horton High School in Wolfville, Nova Scotia and will be attending the University of Ottawa where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Taylor Parrott-Williams
Taylor is the granddaughter of Wilford and Grace Ford of Africville. She is currently in her third year of secondary education and will be continuing her studies at Mount Saint Vincent University, in the Bachelor of Public Relations program.
