Welcome to the Africville Museum

 

In a replica of the Seaview United Baptist Church, we share stories of the community of Africville, the spirit of which lives on.

Current Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday / 10 am – 4 pm

Upcoming Closures: The Africville Museum will be closed to the public on Monday, November 11th in observance of Remembrance Day

The Africville Museum will also be closed to tours for the Christmas season beginning on November 23rd, 2024 and will re-open on January 6th, 2025.

*** The Africville Museum grounds are a ‘No dogs allowed’ area.  The adjacent Africville Park is designated as an on-leash dog area.***

The Africville Museum invites you to a special Christmas Church Service on Sunday, December 1st at 10:00 am. All are welcome!

Come and join us for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Ceremony happening at the Africville Museum on Sunday December 1st beginning at 5 PM.

Need a way to our tree lighting? We’ve arranged for a bus to do pick ups in Hammonds Plains and Lucasville. To reserve a spot please reach out to ansaio@halifax.ca or call (902) 476-3592
