Welcome to the Africville Museum

In a replica of the Seaview Baptist Church, we share stories of the community of Africville, the spirit of which lives on.

Open Hours:  Monday- Friday / 10 am – 4 pm

*** The Africville Museum grounds are a ‘no dogs allowed’ area. If you have a dog, please use the Africville Park with your dog remaining on leash.

Exhibition Open Days:   Our exhibition is only open when cruise ships are docked at the 22 Berth. Please visit https://www.cruisehalifax.ca/our-visitors/cruise-schedule/ to see when the cruise ships are visiting our port.

Africville Heritage Trust Scholarship Scholarship Awards Program– Deadline June 30th, 2024

The AHT, together with Waterbury Newton Law Firm have established a scholarship program to provide financial assistance to former residents and descendants of former Africville residents who pursue post secondary education, as well as to students who demonstrate an effort to further the purpose of the Society through community advocacy, research, publications and training.
